We left La Toque wondering what the bloom just happened. This was supposed to be our anniversary dinner and the perfect way to end an otherwise amazing trip. Unfortunately, it was not what we expected. We opted for the tasting menu and found it to be overpriced for what was served to us. Course after course arrived looking very similar, mostly shades of brown and green, and lacked the flavour and creativity we were expecting. Nothing really stood out. Underwhelming. I'm not sure if they normally serve folks after a long day of wineries or what. The food was uninspired, and some of the courses were bland. I was really excited for the chefs menu and service. My expectation was a series of exceptional bites. It was not that. Yes there were many beautiful wines. A crispy brussel sprout that can be found at any steakhouse. A single divine bone in slice of lamb (thank God). 7 courses and only one memorable bite. Sea bass was "good". The rest missed. The service was exceptional! The carpet was dingy and tables worn.

We paired the food with the wine pairings and the sommelier helped make a substitution for me. I enjoyed the vegetarian dinner while my husband had seafood. This place is an absolute Gem. The service makes every dish a more elevated experience. We had dinner here 2 nights in a row, we wanted to make sure we tried the most popular dishes.
