Black owned bakery. Happy Black History Month! They have multiple vegan cupcake options. All vegan cupcakes are also gluten free. I wanted to try all the vegan flavors so I got one of each, which totaled half a dozen. They came frozen. This was my first experience this weekend at The Cupcake Collection. While the cupcakes were wonderful, the experience prompted me to reflect on my visit when picking up my order. When I arrived to pick up cupcakes for my TSU graduate, the atmosphere did not feel warm or welcoming. It was surprising and, honestly, a bit disappointing.

The cake tastes like flour and something else. It doesn’t taste like a $150 red velvet cake. The cake was super heavy for a half sheet cake and it was popping out of the box. The frosting was extremely sweet and a bit grainy but it was decent. However the cake itself was absolutely awful! Couldn’t even eat it!

I don’t even think we got any pics cuz they were eaten so fast! These cupcakes are some of the best, moist, delicious, sweet flavorful, high quality ingredient cupcakes I’ve ever had. They were a big hit with the group. We ordered 4 cupcakes per room for a 50th birthday party weekend in Nashville. Hadn’t tried them but saw they had excellent reviews and went for it. Everyone in the group had a different favorite but I can attest that every flavor we picked was fabulous!
