Tangier is one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back just to work your way through the menu. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, the portions were generous, and the warm, fresh bread was impossible to stop eating. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. If you're looking for authentic Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine in Portland, Tangier is an easy recommendation. Great food, welcoming staff, and a meal that's worth remembering.

My friend and I decided to eat here for lunch as it was convenient and a nice day outside. It had been awhile since I've been back here. The interior is spacious. We started off work some Moroccan tea while we waited for our food. The tea was good (slightly sweet for me), but had a good aroma to it. I ordered the meat combo plate which included - lamb, chicken, and kaftan. The meat were properly seasoned and flavorful. We also preferred a pita bread and asked for some of their spicy sauce. I absolutely love this place. I dine here frequently, and have had many of the items on the menu. My favorites include the Moroccan Chicken, zaalouk, and fish tagine. Everything is fresh and homemade, including the mango juice (don’t skip that!). A gem in the downtown food scene. And if you happen to be in when the green cookies are available, DO NOT skip those. Spent Christmas in Portland with my adult kids and we discovered this place on accident while on a walk on Christmas day. We noticed on their sign they have gluten free options for one of my daughters so we decided to check it out for dinner. The whole experience was perfect. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was amazing. We were a party of 7 and we each got something different and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
