We asked where the best steaks in Redding were and it was Jack's Grill all the way. The steak was indeed good but left unseasoned so salt and pepper was required. The cooking was perfect medium rare and the baked potato came with loads of butter and sour cream mixed with chives. Very tasty. Soggy side salad, decent garlic toast, lively atmosphere, reasonable prices, full bar for those who drink. Nice outdoor patio.

Went to Jack’s Grill in downtown Redding with a small group of coworkers and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. We all ordered the ribeye with the house salad and a mix of baked potatoes or fries. Portions were generous, the steaks were cooked right, and for a ribeye the price felt more than reasonable. The place has that old school, historic Redding vibe that you just can’t fake. Dim lighting, no nonsense service, and a tradition that has been around for decades.
