I love this place! Delicious pizza! The dough is made fresh daily and you can tell the friendly staff put their hearts into it. I've enjoyed pizza from NYC to NJ and beyond. The Checkmate Cafe can compete with the best of them. And they offer a variety of other meals. Checkmate!

Up until 2 days ago, I really loved this place. The Italian sub was my favorite. Suddenly it is only a few slices of deli meat and cheese. It no longer has lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar, hots or oregano. Two days ago, those were all included. When I called to inquire about it, I was told that the sandwiches never included those things. Except that every sandwich I ordered included them. I guess I'll stop ordering food from Checkmate. Bummer! I used to order fairly often. Their loss, as I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I've never had so much garlic on a slice of pizza in my life, and checkmate was always good. I'm not sure i didn't have time to get a no-name, but that's my only go-to there. Considering I haven't been there in years, you always have to think a slice is safe
