I went with a friend to Aurther's Market Cafe today for the first time. I had known it in years past as a local grocery store, but the woman at the counter said it was turned into a Cafe about 5 years ago. It was about 11:00 am and the place was packed, except for the outdoor dining lining the window side of the building and the patio space (see photo) in the back which was partially occupied. This is a gem! Right away, I noticed that the proprietor has an interesting point of view- It made me want to get to know her. Café items have many homemade syrups and special blends that they make into unexpected and delightful combinations. The frangipane tart is unbelievable. What an adorable place! Lots of tables, lots of items to buy, nice counter filled with baked goods, shelves with specialty teas and coffees. I tried a iced latte with blueberry and lavendar flavor. My friend had chicken salad and an iced matcha. Located in the Stockade District, so we took our drinks down to the water and then walked around a bit before we had to leave. Loved it, people there working on their computers. I would def go back again. Staff helpful and quick.
