Druthers Brewing Company in Schenectady, conveniently located near events held at M&T Bank Center, has some mighty fine brews on tap. The food is really good here too. Where I found issue was with the inattentive and slow bartender, and server, who spent a great amount of time conversing with each other. For food, I went with the Crispy Cheese Curds which had the perfect contrast of a crunchy outside texture and a soft and chewy inside, followed by the delicious Blackened Blade Swordfish Tacos. I can see why people are drawn to Druthers especially the one in Schenectady near the water. It’s Gita good vibe that way. The drink o ordered was ok not as wonderful as the server made it out to be and the fish and chips was also just ok. Fish was kinda mushy the crispy on the outside was ok and the fries were good. I had to ask several times for a fork and water. I’ve been to other Druthers locations and this one was my least favorite.

My wife and I were traveling home through the Albany area and decided to stop in. Fantastic beers!! The food was very good and the bar tenders were extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. The atmosphere is very inviting, as well. We left there feeling like we made some new friends and we are already planning a return visit.

Contemporary decor with upper level pub grub. Does flights. Unusual location that supposedly near the water. However it’s just a canal looking towards a mall / parking garage structure. Parking is plentiful but a little difficult to locate for newcomers.
