For what it is, this place is pretty exceptional. As a restaurant/dive bar thing, the food, community, and service was incredible. The buffalo brussel sprouts and the sandwiches were exceptional. Server was super kind, quick, and helpful. Pricing was fair and the wait wasn't bad. As a walkable, neighborhood restaurant, it doesn't get much better than this.

Fantastic American fare with equally excellent staff that makes you feel like it could be your "Cheers" place. I had the Coconut Curry Lamb Stew which was served with a good selection of small batch hot sauces. I haven't had a dish like that anywhere else. Very memorable. Great atmosphere, diverse crowd, a little noisy but not too loud. Will definitely be going back.

Highland Kitchen still has a great atmosphere, welcoming, and full of character. The food is good, but to be honest, it’s not quite as great as it used to be. I was especially disappointed to see that they took the fish and chips off the menu that used to be one of my favorites. Still, it’s a solid spot for drinks and a good meal, even if it’s lost a bit of its old magic.
