I came with my +1 for dinner on a random Wednesday evening at 6pm. The restaurant was fairly empty and quiet. I tried the "Scrambowl" which was an interesting mix of eggs, jalapenos, potatoes, and sausage. You can expect standard diner food when you visit, including all-day breakfast, sandwiches, etc. It may not be the most delicious meal you've had, but the prices and portion sizes are quite reasonable! Waitstaff were really friendly and the interior was themed as a cabin-in-the-woods which you don't really find in this area.

If you crave good old Americana diner breakfast and lunch, just good old fashioned hearty meals, Black Bear Diner is probably as authentic as it gets in the Bay area. It's not trying to be fancy or unique, their staff are super friendly, and the restaurant is perfect for families with kids. The kids meals are actually more hearty, nutritious and cheaper than McDonald's!

The waiter I had was friendly. He got everything correct about my tables order. He heard my order correctly, but I realized I said the wrong type of tea when I took a sip. I accidentally ordered a sweet tea instead of a non sweetened tea. The waiter smiled at me and said he will go get the one I wanted right now! I didn’t have to pay extra for it either!
