The rooms were nice and big, location was great. But in the middle of the night our room flooded completely, through no fault of our own. Clothes and bedsheets were soaked. Luggage, coats were all wet, phone charger broken. Staff were good about it, but such a disruption I feel so money should be returned.

Very close to the cheese market. We had dinner here using our Amex benefits. The food and service were good. The ambiance was great, until it got busier and a bit loud but not uncomfortable.

Only had dinner, didn’t use the hotel facilities. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the servings, not that big on volume. In itself not so much of a problem but the choice for sides was somewhat limited. Nice ambiance, close to the “Kaasmarkt”, great walking area in the center of Alkmaar.
