Mehar★★★★Visited Uncle Cake Shop in Birmingham’s Chinatown. We ordered a lychee and chocolate birthday cake (around £25) and it was absolutely excellent — easily a 5/5. Fresh, light, and full of flavour. One of the best cakes we’ve had. We also tried a couple of single-slice cakes (including matcha and a cheesecake-style one) out of curiosity. For our taste, these were very unusual and didn’t feel like a typical cake at all — slightly sour and very different in flavour. For us, these were a 1/5. Mishua★★★I recently tried the Lychee Rose cake from this shop, and while it looked stunning, the experience was a bit of a letdown compared to my previous visits. Specifically: Cake to Cream Ratio: There was far too much cream and not enough actual sponge cake. It felt unbalanced and a bit heavy. Flavor: The rose flavor was almost non-existent. Saw a child licking the windows to the cakes, so can see where this hygiene rating came from… Would come again though!
Jislaine.a★★★★★I’ve visited Uncle Cakes many times, and it never misses. The buns delicious , and their sweet treats are honestly to die for. I noticed they also sell such cute cakes that are ready to purchase straight away, which is super convenient. I really liked how they had a lovely selection to choose from. They can even write on the cake if you’d like, which is a really nice touch. The packaging all looked really premium and pretty. The staff have always been so friendly and helpful every time I’ve gone. The shop itself is quite small and can get a bit crowded, but that’s only because everyone’s tr
