Recently visited The Shakespeare ( Canterbury )for a meetup with friends and had a really good experience. The atmosphere was warm and lively, and the location overlooking Canterbury Cathedral makes it an even nicer place to sit and relax. I ordered the crispy chicken burger and it definitely didn’t disappoint — crispy, juicy, and full of flavour. The food came out fresh and the portions were satisfying too. It’s a great spot for casual drinks, snacks, and catching up with friends. Nice ambience, friendly staff, and a good selection of food and drinks. Would happily visit again.

Located in the heart of Canterbury in Butchery Lane you will find 'The Shakespeare'. I have known this pub for nearly 50 years and I have to say it has changed little. It still inbraces the local pub feel, but now having a good thoughput of visiting tourists from around the world. Offering a cosmopolitan menu which of course includes British staples that I hope those visiting enjoy. One thing I did miss was the traditional Landlord seeing over things, instead replaced by an army of young friendly faces that I found eager to serve. Probably due to planning restrictions this is one pub that is l

The food here was absolutely incredible - every bite left me wanting more. We shared a platter, and everything from the wings to the loaded fries was packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. I've visited quite a few places around Canterbury, and this is hands down one of the must-try spots. The setting is amazing too - we sat outside in the sun, surrounded by beautiful old buildings. There's plenty of seating whether you're with friends or on a date. This place is a proper local hotspot, and for good reason. Can't wait to come back!
