This would have been a 4, had it not been for the disappointing experience by the manager while paying. It deserves a 2.5… My elderly guest had chosen Cote as he is a member of the chain and was excited for the perks. While paying, in spite of the staff being aware he was a member, I paid without realising it was an opportunity for him to get his membership card scanned. When we asked if we could redo the transaction, the manager said no and admitted it would be too hard for him, as he’d have to explain the transaction to head office. This says a lot about his care for customer experience. T

Côte Brasserie is beautifully positioned right on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay, making it a great location and a genuinely romantic setting, especially as the light fades over the water. I took advantage of the £10 app offer, which allows you to order one of their iconic dishes listed on the menu for just £10 — and even better, if the dish is served with fries, you get unlimited refill of fries! Visited cote in cardiff Bay for lunch today. Very warm welcome and the staff were attentive all through my meal. I had the set menu. Started with the charcuterie the truffle sausage was a bit intense for me but everything else was lovely. I had the sirloin steak and fries, very nice, cooked perfectly, for pud I had the cheese plate, lovely selection of cheeses. To drink I had their non alcoholic spritz which was really nice and had free refils. All in all good experience, lovely setting, atmosphere was really good, very lively. Will definitly come back again
