The Black Grape was a wonderful find as we walked around Edinburgh. The staff were welcoming, and the atmosphere was inviting. We tried a series of their small plates, and everything was delicious! If you like spice, try their twist on a Scotch Egg. Of particular mention - the Beef carpaccio! ...it was outstanding, and tasted like more! Definitely worth a visit to The Black Grape! Enjoy!

Fantastic meal and great value for money. Came here a couple of years ago but the standard hasn't changed and everything was cooked perfectly. We had the focaccia and whipped feta, scallops, lamb belly and some duck leg croquettes which were all delicious. Will happily return!

A fortunate night out in Edinburgh to start our stay in the city, we stumbled into the Black Grape from off our train after seeing the Nduja Scotcb Egg on the menu. What we didn’t expect, however, was to sit down to arguably the best meal of our vacation. From the duck croquettes to the bbq asparagus, each plate was shared with absolute enjoyment. And the cocktails? Bar none. The staff was lovely, and the venue is classy without being unwelcoming. I have to agree with our server that they are truly “making magic”. You have to stop in if your anywhere near Edinburgh.

Returned to the Black Grape and so glad that I did, as the meal was delivered even better than my first visit. One thing that stands out is how thoughtfully the flavours come together. Ingredients were very well paired, each complementing the others to create a great balance of taste. Particularly love the beef carpaccio, with the crispy shallots adding an impressive textural contrast to the dish. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.
