Our visit to The Crown in Old Basing was excellent from start to finish. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the food was outstanding. We had the cheeseburgers with fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly, incredibly juicy, and full of flavour. The presentation of the food was also very appealing. A special mention goes to the service. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They checked on us several times to make sure everything was okay, without ever being intrusive. Saturday early evening meal. Delicious freshly cooked pie and the best carrots ever! Perfectly cooked steak, and the largest portion of ginger pudding ever seen. Lovely friendly service without being intrusive. An enjoyable evening all round.

Due to covid restrictions dining is outside. Plenty of space and nice sunny garden. Hand sanitizers are available. Food was okay, but the battered fish was not fully fried. Free parking at the front and at the back.

I had lunch here with my family on Friday and we had a wonderful time. The pub is clean and nice to be in, lovely garden, loads of parking. The beer was nice and good choice. The food was genuinely excellent, between us we had the fish bites, beef special and chicken special and we all were so happy with the food. There was one guy running tables and bar but he kept on top of things and was attentive and polite and looked after us. We will definitely be going back, and I can 100% recommend this pub! Also if you're visiting the area you're right next to Basing House and some nice walks. H
