Jon Sharp★★★★★

Beautiful characterful 18th century building that once was a windmill. Plenty of seating inside, some upstairs. Quite a large outside area with more tables on the patio and grass area, next to the Avon river. Excellent selection of craft beers and a good selection of well kept Greene King real ales. Food was perfect and served quickly Staff were friendly and welcoming. Amazing location worth a visit if in Salisbury.

I would say avoid sorry to say. Service was very slow nearly two hours for lunch to be cooked. Which was a sandwich and a burger. Both of which missing half the toppings was told there was nothing that could be done as they were out of a lot of things. Was said in a very matter of fact way with no apology. In which case surely you shouldn’t be accepting orders for them? It’s a shame because it looks like a lovely place and a nice environment.

The Bishop's Mill is a pleasant, cozy pub in the centre of Salisbury, situated by a picturesque stream — in fact, this is where the original mill stood, giving the pub its name. The pub lies in the oldest part of Salisbury, where the city was established. The mill is believed to have been built here in 1231 (or even earlier) and, as the name suggests, belonged to the local bishop. The current building dates back to the 18th century. For some time it housed a pub called The Mill and after is was acquired by Greene King, it became The Bishop’s Mill. This is a classic English pub — a two‑level

Picture perfect pub in a historic building with beautiful riverside terrace for sunny days. Food was good when I was there.
