London Pub Map★★★★★🚇 Stoke Newington 🍺 £6.50 Saint Monday Pale Ale The Axe is located just off Stoke Newington High Street close to Stoke Newington Common. The nearest station is Stoke Newington overground. This pub started life as The Cricketers built in 1896 by Watney Combe Reid. After a short period of closure the pub reopened as The Axe in May 2017, the pub is run by the Graceland Pub Co who also run the excellent Earl of Essex in Islington. This is a decent sized pub that has one bar set around a large island servery. The decor is traditional and quite simple in appearance. The walls are clad in glazed
StewartGerard★★★★★Delightful local pub in Hackney, friendly chilled staff. Easy to get a seat indoors or outdoors in the nice shady garden. The food is very tasty and the chips are always piping hot! Tons of beers on tap and if wine is your thing decent selection there too! If you’re in the hood stop by the axe, you won’t regret it!
Felix Gan★★★★★Came here last week and was really impress by the Sunday roast prepared here. I was quite glad the roasted beef were cooked perfectly medium rare and was really loving it! I could take a photo of the dish with beef itself but didn’t get chance to. The Yorkshire puddings was stunning and really loving this. I would recommend people to come here to those planning to visit.
Julio F. Urbina★★★★★We had a fantastic time reserving the private room in the back (the cave) with our group of 20 people for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious, great selection of drinks and cocktails, the space was perfect even with small children, and the service staff was really amazing helping us with everything, from putting our own music to helping with the birthday cake and plates. Thanks again, we’ll be back soon.
