It's been quite a few years since I had been to a Captain D' s. The exterior has seen better days but it's the I was coming for. The inside seemed ripe for renovation. Food was rather prompt but the fish portions were long and skinny. Hush puppies were nice and hot as were the fries. Not many others were dining at the same time but they seemed to be doing steady to go business. Would return.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the Captain D’s in Alvin, Texas (Store #330767). I ordered a Fish Only Pack through the drive-thru on March 6, 2026 around 6:41 PM (Order #0173). When I got home, the fish was extremely greasy and did not taste normal. The breading was falling apart and the grease had soaked completely through the takeout container. The quality was very different from what I normally receive at Captain D’s. I returned to the restaurant within less than an hour to request a refund because the food quality was unacceptable. Normally I would give them a better rating but today when we went there for lunch, we overheard the assistant manager say to the clerk that the owner wanted the drive-in to come first. You would think that if someone took the time to come inside for there meal that they would be served first but not at Alvin's location. We will not be going back 😡
