When in Boston, an authentic Irish pub is a cultural obligation, and Mr. Dooley’s represents the tradition beautifully. The experience begins at the tap; the Guinness is a flawless pour, boasting just the right, beautifully stubborn amount of creamy head. From the kitchen, the Shepherd’s Pie is a triumph of balance—delightfully light yet deeply savory, avoiding the leaden heaviness that so often plagues the dish. Paired with a Chicken Caesar Wrap, the meal becomes a brilliant study in contrasts. The wrap offers a crisp, refreshing juxtaposition to the warm comfort of the pie, delivering a perf

Beef stew was outstanding! But let’s face it, so was the Shepards pie, fish and chips, the pretzel and beer cheese and anything else we had! Get there early if you are there on a weekend as it does get busy. I feel we got really lucky arriving about 7-730 as someone was getting up but we were there about an hour and a half and everyone was just there to have a great time and not moving.

Came here for beer and food. $10 for a draft of Guinness. We got the Irish sampler ($22) and bowl of clam chowder ($10). Food was bad to mid. Stew was chalky and had a weird burnt chocolate flavor. The Shepards pie had way too much paprika. The clam chowder and cottage pie were “ok”. Not getting the same hype as the other reviews. Pub atmosphere was fun tho. 2 star - not great, lower value

Got the shepherds pie and Irish stew and both were delicious!!! So homey and hit the spot. Also had live music and a lively atmosphere. Note: We waited in line outside on St Patricks Day and you don't automatically get a table. So make sure to tell the waiter if you are planning to eat a meal so they can get you a table
