Sooo so disappointed 😞 in this place. Im a california native and never got to eat here until today cause I moved away when I was a teenager. The hype is crazy cause california pastrami is amazing and this place is not it. The pastrami was flavorless but the sandwich id give 3 out of 10. The chili cheese fries were horrible the chili was flavorless meat paste absolutely crappy texture and zero flavor. Tried my daughters French dip and it was the best id say 7 out of 10. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way to eat here ever again. I wanted to love this place and it just wasn't it.

There are two places I have to get when we make our So Cal trips…The Hat is absolutely on the short list! The dipped pastrami sandwich and chili cheese fries are the musts! Come hungry and keep in mind the potions are huge! I have a family of 6 and we can share the fries with enough for all.

Review 12/365 Day Challenge Met up my in laws on a Sunday noon for lunch. The place was fully packed indoor and outdoor umbrella seating outside. My hubby loves Pastrami Sandwiches. He's been a fan of THE HAT way before we've started dating. Him and his brother loves The Hat for their World Famous Pastrami Dip. Use to drive from La Mirada to Brea for it. What we ordered ~ Pastrami sandwich in my opinion is a little bit salty but I'm not a pastrami sandwich connoisseur. My husband does say it's one of the best. Must enjoy it w the dip, i feel makes a huge difference. ~ Chili Fries is pretty

I used to love coming here for the pastrami. They have gotten so skimpy with the meat. I mean, why not charge the customer for it, instead of you not adding the meat. Nevertheless, the flavor is bomb. And you have to get the gravy and dip the fries in it. This is the only place I do that to fries.
