Aileen Yuan★★★★★Came in on a Saturday night and ended up seated at the bar. It was a bit slower since we came later in the evening (we had walked by earlier and it was absolutely packed), and our bartender Jason provided exceptional service. He checked up on us often, talked with us about Star Wars, explained different beers and alcohol flavors, and was genuinely so friendly and welcoming. He really made the experience memorable. The food was incredible; apparently the pub has a Michelin star, which honestly made total sense after eating here. We ordered the deluxe gravy chips, scotch egg, pub burger, sticky
Yevette Brown★★★★Step into a London Pub for a pint and a delicious pub meal at this Pilsen area restaurant on chicago’s South side. Friday is a fish and chips day at Pleasant House, and the crispy meal is worth the trip. Enjoy it with a side of Welsh Rarebit (cheddar cheese toast) and mint peas. But make sure you also dig into their amazing meat pies! The steak and ale is delicious, but there’s always a special served as well. Today it was Spring Vegetable. An enjoyable lunch spot, for something a little different on a Friday afternoon, so make sure you stop by.
Emma Matsuda★★★★★Exceptional establishment. Came as a solo diner; felt welcomed as soon as I stepped in. The staff had personality and flair - helping me to not only choose my meal, but also gave me tips for exploring Chicago - which in turn lead to some interesting discussions around the history of house music! I had the steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. As an Australian, I don’t give 5 stars for such matters lightly. Had a Guinness on the side and it was bueno. They were playing great music the entire time, literally nothing to fault at this place. I’ll be back.
annie★★★★★it can be a little hard finding parking, but the food makes it worth it. i’ve never really had an british-style breakfast so this was a new but pleasant experience. the sauce on the curry chips was really good. i also really liked the mushroom and kale pie. it can feel a little dry at times so i wish i got it with the mash
