I love old-timey like cafes mom and pop diners there's not very many like that where I'm from especially of that atmosphere the people are friendly everybody that came in like they all knew each other and they all treated each other like family they treated us like they knew us even though we live in Minnesota we were down in Iowa taking care of some family business I did a quick Google search for cafes in the area it led me right to Mason City to Cook's Cafe. We got breakfast and the pancakes were perfectly sized where you could actually eat them. The price looked like it was from 2005. Very affordable place! Would highly recommend!

Food was ok, but standard diner fare. Poor cook in the kitchen working on too small of a stove. Leave it for the locals…
