The food was good, but the service wasn’t great. It wasn’t very busy but even for a beer we had to wait over 10 minutes after ordering. And when they made a mistake with one of our drinks, the reaction wasn’t very nice or apologetic - the waitress instead yelled over to her colleague asking if I was saying the truth. That made the situation uncomfortable.

I was looking forward to the Haxe dish. But it was dissappointing. The taste was average and I could not chew the skin as is was too firm and I could not even cut it. They have put it too long in the oven I think.

Whenever I visit Germany, I always try to stop by a traditional local restaurant. Zur Laterne offers many different options, but the vast choice of Schnitzels - both meat and vegetarian made of mushrooms - attracted my attention. I took the "Zur Laterne" variant, with sauteed onions, bacon strips and a fried egg. The pork schnitzel had been pounded very thin, the meat was tender with a golden, crunchy and seasoned breadcrumb coating.
