And when they made a mistake with one of our drinks, the reaction wasn’t very nice or apologetic - the waitress instead yelled over to her colleague asking if I was saying the truth. That made the situation uncomfortable.

Zur Laterne offers many different options, but the vast choice of Schnitzels - both meat and vegetarian made of mushrooms - attracted my attention. I took the "Zur Laterne" variant, with sauteed onions, bacon strips and a fried egg. The pork schnitzel had been pounded very thin, the meat was tender with a golden, crunchy and seasoned breadcrumb coating.
