This is one of my favourite pubs. I have been a local here my whole life, and the service has only got better and better over the years while still keeping the same feel and standards. Great food, a good atmosphere, and really nice surroundings. They pour a lovely Guinness, and the sausage rolls are absolutely bang on. I also found out they are homemade, which makes complete sense. If you go for a roast, the meat comes from The Ginger Pig, which is a great shout and really shows in the quality. I am a regular here and cannot recommend this pub highly enough. Comfortable bed, well stocked in terms of honesty bar, coffee, water, glasses. Iron and board. Safe etc. Decor a bit tired with all floors feeling like they could do with a deep clean. Reception staff friendly and helpful. This is a busy pub and restaurant so expect some noise but our room at the back overlooking the common was lovely and quiet. Service a little random but food is excellent and worth the wait - we had dinner and two breakfasts and quality of ingredients was super. I would happily stay here again.

I was a beautiful experience to come back at the windmill for a Sunday roast with friends. A splendid place where to spend time with friends and partner. Service was exceptional also considering it was the first day of a new waiter there. Everything was 5 stars !! I hope to book earlier next time so I can sit on the brighter side.

Went for a beautiful birthday celebration lunch with our children and grandchild. We loved the ambience and decor. Food choices were excellent and perfect for a tasty, hearty lunch. The service was excellent on such a busy day and we must commend Tom for his excellent service, attention to detail and making sure our grandson was well catered for.
