From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel genuinely welcome. When booking, I mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday and would be dining alone, but the team immediately made the occasion feel special. There was even a birthday card waiting for me at my table, which was a lovely touch. The view of Edinburgh Castle from my table was magnificent. Who doesn’t like a rooftop restaurant? But the food is what you’ll come back for. Absolutely one of the best Thai restaurants we’ve been to. We had chicken satay, Thai chicken tacos and tempura vegetables. All wonderful. And the service was great. We had no reservation and got in no problem at 5:30, but it quickly started filling up. Book ahead and ask for the glass house for seating. Has a great view to the castle. Don’t miss this place.

We visited Chaophraya for our anniversary dinner and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The views across Edinburgh are beautiful and on arrival we had a card and glass of prosecco on our table to kick start our celebrations which was a lovely touch. Daniel, our server added to our experience sharing his knowledge of the menu, being attentive even when the restaurant was getting busy. He was very friendly and took time to ensure that everything was ok. We will definitely return and thank you for a lovely experience.

So impressed by their service, such attention to detail, it was my partners birthday, they welcomed us with a card and after dinner served us a complimentary cake. Our sever Daniel and hostess Hannah were lovely and polite, amazing team! I love that they have many vegetarian options. My favourite was the pad thai, red curry and chicken satay. The raspberry crush cocktail was refreshing. Would definitely recommend Chaophraya and return again.
