I like this place. Actually, I like it a lot. Part of the whitbread group ( that includes beefeater & brewers fayre). However, this place outshines the others for the service you get. My wife & I have been quite a few times. The service is of very high standard, with friendly staff, that always go the "extra mile". I like the atmosphere. They are also thoughtful with the table arrangements. For people like us, who prefer a quieter table. That's not a problem. The food always is of good quality, tasty & good portion size. Firstly, we walk into an almost empty restaurant and casually ask if we could be seated 45 minutes ahead of our booking. We were met with the kitchen would not be prepared for this, so no please take a seat at the bar. Upon sitting at the bar, this manager walks back over and smiles, are you a hotel guest and we answer, yes, they’ve booked it for us. Came here last week for a family meal, and was impressed with the quality and amount of food given. So we decided to give it another go but try the value range. We were blown away with the quality and amount for such a low price. We, 3 adults all had 2 courses and drinks non alcoholic, 0 Guinness in my case, and the bill was under £50. If you join their email list you can get 25% off, with vouchers for half term giving discounts and free meals for children.
