Staff Treated Customers Differently – Why? I visited your Hyde branch at approximately 2:15 pm on 9 May 2026. I ordered two drinks, one of which was an iced matcha. The drink tasted more like iced milk, with very little matcha flavour. However, this was a minor issue compared with the poor customer service I experienced. There was a member of staff wearing glasses, who I believe may have been the supervisor, as well as a younger member of staff whom I had not seen before. It's a Costa, so you know what to expect. The coffee is very good and the staff are friendly. It's very welcome in the town: there is no other coffee chain and only a few cafes serving anything half decent. Staff are really unhelpful. I just wanted a decaf drink. She suggested green tea so I told her that contains caffeine and I can't have it. I asked if there were any herbal tea and there were a few. I chose mango tea. She didn't bother to tell me it was mango green tea and chamomile. No refund offered when I took it back. She just said ‘oh’ when I said I can't drink it as it has caffeine in. Had no idea of there was anything decaf. Really frustrating.

I am new mum struggling with pram and no table service was offered or help with doors. My toastie wasn’t done properly as cheese wasn’t melted. Coffee was good. Tables need to be cleaned more often as I was setting next to dirty table for about 30min and it wasn’t busy. Team not engaged with me, they was busy talking to regular customer.
