Met up with a few family members for a long over due catch up and chose the cock and pye as was central for most people. Great service from the bar staff and nothing was too much trouble. They have recently launched their festive menu which on appearance looked quite appetising, however I chose a selection of light bites one of which was the "festive pigs in blankets drizzled in maple syrup" (see pic attached) what baffles me is that who ever put that on a plate actually thought that was good enough to be served. Whoever was in charge of the bar the other night should work on their customer service skills. Literally asked for 2 straws for our drinks that we'd just paid for and the guy was rude and shouted at me to go to the other area where it was crowded, for 2 straws which were literally 1 metre away - he just had to pass them and there would've be no issues. But instead he complicated it. Why not give straws when you serve drinks in the first place? Why not make exceptions? Why is the hospitality industry in the UK becoming like a military mission..?

Had a fantastic meal here! The food was tasty and high quality without the high price tag. It’s rare to find such good value for money these days. To top it off, the beer was crisp and refreshing. The atmosphere is made even better by the staff; they are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend for a relaxed afternoon or evening out.

Fantastic bar which we go to before going to watch Ipswich town fc. Great value food and drinks. Pub very busy bits till had a great atmosphere. The service was excellent because you could see how hard the team worked to keep on top of everything. Special praise to Monica who always greets us with a smile and who excellent at her job Personally I love this pub because of the friendly staff who are fantastic at there job
