We visited Pizza Express in Walton on Thursday 26th March as a group of four, consisting of two adults and two children, to celebrate a family birthday. Booking online was straightforward, with an immediate confirmation and a reminder email the day before. We arrived at 7:30pm and it looked like they had just finished serving a large party. As a result, there was a short wait of a couple of minutes before we were acknowledged and seated. Hadn’t been to PizzaExpress in years and was a bit apprehensive as Walton always looks empty whenever I walk past. Decided to give it a go today and ordered a La Reine pizza with a raspberry cooler. Wasn’t blown away by the pizza itself, but the blue cheese and pizzanais dips jazzed it up. Staff were friendly enough, though it’s never a great sign for a business when you try to pay cash and get told there’s no change on site, and they’re pushing cheap lunchtime specials.

Had a really enjoyable three course lunch here, today. I'd booked and asked if we could be seated in a booth to avoid a kids party on the opposite side of the restaurant. The waitress asked which one we'd like to sit in before seating us and providing menus. The portions were the ideal size. We ate everything that we'd ordered, just took a small portion of dessert as son was unable to finish it all. Food was freshly prepared and hot.
