So, after being recommended by a work colleague who lives in Wigan, we travelled here from Bolton. We chose a Monday as we knew it would be a bit quieter than a weekend. We had the mixed grill which we doubled up on the offer with the steak, 4 to 8 ounce, within 15 mins it was served to us piping hot and cooked to perfection. On a massive plate that was full, and for the price, was outstanding !! We had the carvery, with extra Yorkshire puddings (see photo). Meat was good. I would give 5 star review for the food but, as a personal preference, I prefer my vegetables cut smaller. And and I also think the carrots were not peeled, just haphazardly chopped and thrown in hot water. Again just my personal preference. The staff were very friendly. As a disabled person when I asked for assistance I was helped and it was given with a genuine smile and eagerness to please. The atmosphere was ok but the lighting in the pub/restaurant made the place look gloomier than the actually good vibes. I

Rachel was super. We had a large group from our college coming over. She was patient, respectful and gave additional time for our students who have additional needs to practice their independence. She was very organised and precise and made the ordering service and whole process very smooth. A great experience, we will be back and hoping Rachel is there to attend to our needs 👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Normally enjoy a good carvery here. Not so last night. Wife and I had one each but the food was unusually bland and tasteless, the carrots cut in huge hard chunks, not sliced, and clearly undercooked. When the meat was cut, you don't always get the full slice, the slice of turkey I was given, part of it broken off while slicing and it was just left sitting there, why wasn't I served the whole slice?!
