Laurie Giertz★★★★★Absolutely perfect evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. Staff were superb, beautiful lobby bar and dining room. Our waiter was personable and provided excellent food options. Having valet simplified the parking issue and is all paid for on your phone. Dessert was just heavenly. You will not be disappointed.
Kevin Hudson★★★★★Everything was excellent. Celebrating a wedding in the family. It was just the 4 of us there but very prompt on everything. We were given extra information about the artwork in the building, etc. Cocktails were great, our food was even better. Steak wasnt super impressed with, but it was cooked well and I definitely didnt struggle finishing it. Everything else was perfection, we got several appetizers to share with table. Loved all the dips that came with the ritz and dips...laughed at the "fancy" presentation of opening a pack of ritz with a pair of scissors for our dips....but the package crackers were perfect for how great the dips were. I liked the bacon and cheddar and the pimento cheese particularly. We got the deviled egg puffs, crab cake, and the pigs n blanket (wagyu?) as well. The burgers coming out looked delicious. Wanting to come back with my wife to check those out...but we had to do the crab cakes and steak for the occasion yesterday. We could have definitely gotten of
Marc Facca★★★★★We had an incredible night here. First, the vibe and decor of the place is awesome. We started with the sourdough and the Caesar salad. Sourdough was great and the Caesar salad was a terrific Asian take on it. Absolute umami bomb. Due to the fact that it was Lent, I got the seared redfish. I was between that and the mushroom risotto, which the server said was better as a side. I appreciated her honesty, Presentation was great, as it came with what I would call a genie’s lamp of sauce that was poured around the fish into the bed of quinoa. The quinoa was unlike any quinoa I’ve ever had - it was full of flavor and was very hearty and satiating. My wife had the filet, which she liked a lot, but she did not that it tasted a little like barbecue - wasn’t bad, but was not what she was expecting. The green beans and the mushrooms were great. I particularly liked the mushrooms. For dessert, since my wife has gestational diabetes right now, the kitchen whipped up a custom dessert with berries,
Barbara Byrd★★★★★Hudson was amazing. You must order the Ritz and Dips just for the "table side" experience. I had the Crab cake Louie and it was fresh, filling and delicious. This was my first visit with girlfriends for my birthday lunch but I'll be back with the hubby, soon. Don't miss all the beautiful artwork throughout the hotel, including Dean Martin's original billard table.
Danielle Stauty★★★★★Here’s a short, strong, Google-perfect version that ends powerful and polished: ⸻ Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. From valet to front desk, reservations, our waiter, and even the GM — every interaction felt intentional and genuinely caring. I have 10 years in hospitality and this wasn’t just great service, it was exceptional. Our waiter educated us on the story behind the property and menu, paced our meal perfectly around our rodeo plans, and made us feel truly taken care of. The GM even came to greet us when he heard we were using a gift card. Food, staff, and atmosphere were all outstanding. Fancy can be friendly — and Bowie House proves it. We felt like family and this set the tone for an amazing night. We will absolutely be back.

Zoe★★★★★We celebrated our Thanksgiving dinner at Horses & Bricks, and the entire evening was exceptional. The moment we walked in, the warm Texas atmosphere immediately stood out, classic, cozy, and beautifully designed. The walls are adorned with the hotel owner’s personal art collection, which gives the space a refined and intimate character. Our corner table made the experience feel especially romantic and memorable. The food was outstanding. The creamy artichoke and crab dip was one of the best starters I’ve ever had, rich, flavorful, and perfectly served with assorted crackers. For the main courses, the butter poached lobster with butternut squash risotto and black truffle was outstanding, and the roasted turkey dinner was elevated and beautifully prepared. Every side dish was thoughtfully seasoned, especially the crispy Brussels sprouts with pepper jelly. Desserts were also excellent, including the pumpkin spice gooey butter cake, chocolate pecan torte, and apple cinnamon sablé. Each o
Brian Holm-Hansen★★★★★Absolutely fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The waiter was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The salad with smoked bacon and aged buttermilk was a fantastic start. The Oscar style steak was delicious. The side of mushrooms included a nice variety of savory sauteed mushrooms. The bartender was very knowledeable and helped us choose a delicious tequila. The valet staff was also very friendly and helpful.
