I finally visited El Maida after years of living in Groningen and it definitely did not disappoint. We went for a lunch and even though the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, they didn’t rush us or kick us out, instead they took our order and a second later the food was served. The service was great, super accommodating and friendly. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun while having some delicious hummus paired with bread. A lovely North African spot in Groningen! We went here for Sunday lunch, despite the food taking slightly long, it was absolutely delicious. We ordered the hummus, lamb kofta wrap, kofta tajin, harissa soup, and a schotel, everything was superb. Very fresh and flavorful dishes. Definitely coming back!

What a lovely place and the food is just amazing. It was so quick and I wasn’t expecting much, but this is worth the money. I’m glad we made reservations, and if we’re back in Groningen we’ll for sure be back. The lamb wrap is super flavourful. And the mocktails are also really good and inexpensive.

The food was delicious—we shared a few mezzes and loved every bite. There are lots of vegan options, which was great. The staff was friendly, although the service was a bit slow, but it didn't bother us at all. As far as I know, they're only open for lunch and don't take reservations, so keep that in mind. I'll definitely be coming back!
