We couldn’t secure a table online, so we were grateful to be offered the last available one on arrival. The meal started strong with freshly baked sourdough and chive butter — crisp crust, moist crumb, and beautifully seasoned butter that set high expectations. On the waiter’s recommendation, we chose a bottle of wine that turned out to be an elegant and well‑matched companion to the food. This is my favourite restaurant in Aberdeen — the food is always spot on, and the old-Normandy French vibe with the atmosphere is amazing. Most of the staff are great; the manager and the waitresses in black uniforms are very professional. However, the students (or the younger staff) in white shirts should be properly trained before working with customers. Both of us have extensive experience of fine dining in some of the UK’s top Michelin starred restaurants. This establishment is clearly not comparable to such establishments. Firstly, in any fine dining establishment, warm bread is typically provided complimentary. This restaurant charges £5 for it. Additionally, a 10% discretionary service charge was added, which was excessive given the service quality. Furthermore, an extra £10 was charged fo
