First visit - We called in because when our son walks past on the canal he noticed the food always looked lovely and the gorgous smell. We are so pleased we visited - all three of us really enjoyed our meals. Plenty of free parking, very friendly staff, quick to serve. The food was arranged nicely on each plate and hot. Wow!!! What a pleasant surprise, had been told a lot about calypso by work colleagues and associates for a while now, never found the time to get over on my dinner due to time restrictions but made use off the extra time I had today and boy was i not disappointed everything from the atmosphere with the canal on the back and lovey reggae music playing and friendly locals to very polite and attentive staff Jordan and Shelly i believe, The food tho was truly the standout tho,the fried chicken strips and coleslaw was sublime even squeezed in a jerk chicken wrap, the food was absolutely fantastic t

We ordered the platter for two, but unfortunately some of the chicken was raw. The mutton curry was quite bland and lacked any real heat or spice, and the jerk chicken didn’t seem to have much seasoning, so it tasted more like plain grilled chicken. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly when we raised the issue with the chicken and kindly didn’t charge us for the drinks. It may have just been an off day, but it was disappointing, especially as we’re new to the area and really enjoy Caribbean food. Sadly, we probably won’t be returning.
