A proper hidden gem. A really lovely, cosy little boozer with an excellent selection of food and drinks. The Sunday roast is an absolute must — proper, traditional and done right. Fresh vegetables (not a frozen carrot in sight), beautifully cooked meats and generous portions that satisfy both average and hearty appetites. We tried all the meats and not one disappointed. I didn't know that this was a Joule's one until I entered. I've tried a few from Lichfield to Congleton. On this visit I tried a couple and settled for the Shropshire Hop IPA (see photo attached). The Green Monkey is good, too There is a car park at the rear, but can be tricky parking.
