A birthday booking for 15 people, they were great at remaining flexible when the numbers were to reduce by 3 on the day due to illness and then increased by 2 as I couodn't count. It was the first Saturday in December, but when booking about a month before I wasn't informed the menu would change. There was only one vegan main i believe on this new menu, they was no regular pub grub driving me to steak and chips for £25 and it's not my favourite and french fries seemed over done. Lovely pub and me and my fiance wanted to book it for our wedding party in summer, but never managed to get a meeting with the Functions person. We left our detail twice and called one time as well, and each time all we got was a promise that someone will contact us, and no one ever did. Very poor attitude. If there was any reason, why the function room would be rejected for us to use, I should have been told . Instead I got radio silence after going there personaly three times trying to enquire about more details. Would not recommend

I used to meet here on a Saturdsy night some 50 years ago. 8pm sharp. The front exterior and interior have hardly changed. Wonderful. A good real ale selection. Oddly I had a Three Acre Sussex Brewery, Spring Golden. Had my first ever pint 2 weeks ago .. in Halifax! Great pub cat. Food menu, rear dining area and small beer garden.
