We had a delicious dinner at First Coast. It looks like a fancy restaurant, but the prices are actually quite reasonable. We had the sea bass and a seafood ravioli, and started with a lobster bisque — everything was really tasty. The staff were attentive, polite, and very professional. Let me start by saying the food was fantastic. We had the lobster burger, calamari, and the octopus, and we were not disappointed — everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Sadly, the service was a bit of a struggle. We came to celebrate my birthday and mentioned it to the waiter, but they walked away without a second word. I have been to First Coast a few times over the years and generally they have been very good. Today my experience stood out - hence the review. Though they do not have a kid's menu, as soon as I showed up for lunch with my 4 yr old toddler the server kindly informed me that they can make anything on the menu in a smaller portion. The service was really good overall - attentive without being overwhelming. All good - but, I need to flag the excellent creamy lobster veloute that accompanied the pan roasted cod. The mussels were fresh and prepared in a delicious cider cream. My sea bass was fresh (albeit a challenge, served whole, but I knew that), and my partner very much enjoyed his seafood pasta. Love that they have a short menu that they most likely rotate often. Would absolutely return.
