Today, I ordered the Jasmine Zest from the summer menu at Hypergoat Coffee Roasters, and this may be one of the most memorable coffee drinks I've had in a long time. The experience started before the first sip. The barista expressed a lemon peel over a flame, creating a brief flash of citrus fire and filling the air with an incredible lemon aroma. It felt more like a cocktail presentation than a coffee order. The first sip was bright, complex, and refreshing. The lemon and espresso played off each other beautifully without either dominating. Great coffee and coworking space a few blocks off King street. Was an easy walk from the waterfront. Lots of tea and coffee options- food is heavy on the carbs (toast, bakery goods etc). Space is well lit and welcoming.
