This was a DoorDash order from Nigerian Kitchen in Uptown Chicago, and overall I was really impressed. First thing I noticed was how well everything was packaged — the bag was sealed properly, the containers held the soup securely, and nothing spilled all over the bag during delivery. Even after the wait, the food still arrived hot, which I appreciated. One thing to know if you order through DoorDash: this isn’t super fast food. I visited this place once and I had high hopes for the food here. To my surprise, the food was not great as I anticipated. I got some fish egusi with pounded yam and plantains, on the side. The egusi had no kind of spice. Another person who went after me asked for spice, but I didn’t know that was an option. Either way, the egusi was just bland without the tomato puree taste to it, and the portion size is a bit smaller than other places I have visited. Everything else was a fair, the price, the plantain and the pounded yam.
