Enjoyable Japanese Ramen. The broth is full of flavour. However the noodle style is not suit my preference. Too soft for me which is very personal. Well the dish I like the most is The Tataki beef. Also they have a good cocktail.

Cute and cosy little ramen joint in Geelong. Their wagyu tataki was very disappointing. Dry, and tough, and not quite rare. It looked like a slightly over done steak cut into bits. Wouldn’t recommend this one but…. The noodles had a good texture and level of chewiness, with a yum broth. Everything was good, but I’d say the broth lacked quite a bit and was the only let down. When you get a tonkotsu broth you expect a level of richness and thickness, however their broths were quite thin and tasted very clear. If you are vegan (like me!) I recommend the Yasai Udon. I’ve been here several times and they’ve made it vegan for me. Just tell the staff you want it vegan. It’s delicious! I love the pumpkin broth. Would love there to be more vegan options on the menu. My partner enjoyed the other non-vegan food on the menu too. The place is small but funky and there’s lots of places to sit and eat (inside and out).

Vvvvvery disappointing experience at Sober Ramen. We ordered beef ribs ramen, tonkotsu ramen, beef tataki, and scallops. Both ramen were extremely salty, with broth almost undrinkable, yet priced at AUD 33, which is completely unreasonable. The beef tataki was also poor value — clearly not high-quality wagyu, only six thin slices for AUD 22. More concerning, I had diarrhea after returning home, and I had not eaten anything else after this meal. This raised serious food safety concerns, especially as the open kitchen walls were visibly dirty with dark stains, and knives were hung directly on th
