Izakaya Kobachi is now a must-visit every time I’m in Gatineau from Montreal. The quality of the food is truly top tier, it’s easily become one of my favorite spots. The pricing is also amazing, especially compared to many restaurants that charge high prices for lower quality. I chose to sit at the bar, and that really made the experience even better. I had the chance to connect with the owner and watch him prepare each dish with genuine passion and care. His wife makes an incredible spicy mayo that stands out, and you can really see the strong, efficient dynamic between them and their team.

The chef, who is also the waiter and owner, is exceptionally kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about his craft.
