Always enjoy eating at Matto! This new location did not disappoint. It was our first time trying this location, we usually go to the one in Ste-Foy or sometimes downtown Quebec. The atmosphere is very modern with high ceilings and nice music. The service was excellent, polite, friendly and efficient. We encountered a little problem with one of our plates as the steak was just a bad piece full of fat but after mentioning it to the waitress, they fixed it immediately by offering something else with no questions asked. We discovered this place while exploring Google Maps. On our first visit, I appreciated the indoor setup and the inviting atmosphere. It felt very warm. I tried the carbonara spaghetti and fungi risotto, both of which were absolutely amazing and tasted fantastic!

The service here was amazing, the waitress was on top of everything and always coming back and ensuring everything was to our standard. It’s a quaint place and comfortable seating. They had a few vegan options and quite a few vegetarian options. No dessert options for vegans though, and no alternative milk either. It doesn’t get a 5 star as it didn’t feel as authentic Italian but it was very good.

This restaurant was recommended by our friend and I was very excited to visit it while I was in Quebec. Unfortunately the service was sub par, the servers hardly paid attention to our table. The wine was just poured right away without giving us a chance to taste it first, which is usually fine, but other tables got that type of service. Our table was also the only one that wasn't offered any parmesan cheese, fresh pepper, etc. The food itself was good, however it had WAY too much butter/oil that separated and everything was just swimming in it.
