Are you looking to eat where the locals eat? Are you up for having an authentic experience, not a Disneyfied one? Are you looking for good food, made with fresh ingredients, simply prepared at a fair price? La Rotonde could be just what you're looking for. No reduction of this, deconstructed that, or essence of lord knows what. I was blessed by serendipity with this little gem. A few blocks away from the main tourist area, found by walking down well lit, shop strewn, fairy book alleyways worn down by generations of locals. The Caesar salad was honestly crazy. Who puts raw onion, boiled eggs and tomatoes and has the audacity to call that a Caesar salad. False advertising. Also one of our meals (a burger) took a really long time to come. Personally, not for me.

You can trust it will be open with fresh croissants and coffee at 8am. This place serves staple French comfort dishes and you will find their onion soup consistently good. Due to its location perfect for watching people busy about their business outside their big windows. I was touched seeing the younger regulars looking after the older ones. The service is always great.
