Popped over to Trier for the day and came here for lunch, got very fortunate to get a seat as it was very busy! Staff were friendly and explained how it works, self serviced when ordering, but food brought to you. I had a wheat beer (Benediktiner) what was delicious, and one I hadn't tried before, and my partner a very nice apple juice. We both had the same meal, schnitzel with champinion mushrooms and fries. Highly recommend trying it if you haven't before, the sauce was excellent and worked perfectly with the schnitzel and fries! Interior is beautiful too with all the old wine equipment!

I just had two quick glasses of wine here, so I can’t really comment on the food. I happened to walk past the place while exploring the wonderful little town of Trier, and its beautiful garden immediately caught my eye. Cheerful people chatting animatedly, wonderful dishes and full glasses of light, crisp white wine being carried past me. Wonderful! To buy a glass of wine, I had to stand in a long line. That wasn’t what bothered me, but the fact that I really liked the Grauburgunder and decided to buy a second glass. But I was alone and had to leave my luggage unattended or carry it with me. T

What a great time we had! The local wines were delicious, and the food was exactly what you’d expect from a German restaurant. We travelled through our plates, and with the atmosphere inside. Nice waiters. Although, the restaurant can be packed so plan ahead if you want to be sure to seat inside.
