Pakka Local Banjara Hills outlet has been our go to restaurant in Hyderabad. It’s one of those simple old school places that focusses on authentic and excellent food quantity, quality and friendly hospitality. True to its name, it’s menu covers Telangana and Andhra cuisines, including the lesser heard ones. Our favourite orders include: - Bheemavaram Royala Veppudu (prawns starter) - Chicken Jade Soup and Kodi Charu (never seen such an innovative variety of localised soups) - Andhra Kodi Biriyani - Kothimir Pulao - Gongura Pulao - Apricot Delight (oh a sinful indulgence!) In the day and age of QR code menus and Instagrammable corners, it’s very heartwarming to see the Chef Salla Rao, visit each table and check if people are enjoying their food. He’s been here for 9 years and has created this magic. I would 10/10 recommend if you want fuss free, yummy, pakka local authentic cuisine. Chaala Bagundi! ❤️

Food is good. Rating 1 star for the pathetic service. The plates smelled bad we had to change them twice and instead of being sorry they were giving weird looks. Why will i pay to eat in a bad smelling plate??? The food and the chef Rao are very good. All the items we ordered were very tasty. The people who serve food were literally ignoring and roaming around and finally the chef had to serve us. And i forgot to ask them to remove the service charge which was Rs.164/- which is not at all worth it for the pathetic service. Attaching photos of the ketchup bowl. We asked multiple times for few things which they ignored god knows why. Very disappointed with the service.

Pakka Local truly lives up to its name — it goes hard on the ‘local’ vibe while still keeping the menu exciting with a few fresh, experimental twists. You genuinely get the best of both worlds here: comforting authentic flavours along with some fun new dishes that feel modern and different. We tried a mix of items and honestly, the taste was on point across everything we ordered. The cigar rolls were a really nice surprise — crispy, flavourful, and something you don’t find everywhere. And their biryani deserves a special mention because it has that authentic touch, the kind that feels proper and satisfying rather than just ‘average restaurant biryani’. The seating is well planned with both indoor and outdoor options, making it a great spot whether you want a relaxed meal or a more lively evening scene. Plus, there’s ample parking which makes it super convenient & service was also on point. And what adds to the whole experience is the setting — they’ve taken this villa and set it up

Very disappointed. I visited after seeing the reviews, but the experience was not good. We ordered Chicken Dum Biryani, and it did not taste authentic. The biryani had too much chilli powder, which completely dominated the flavor. I would not recommend this place for biryani. Instead, it is better to go to Paradise Biryani.

Visited around 3:20 Pm on Feb 14 and had to wait 30 minutes for a table, which was understandable due to the rush. However, the service was extremely disappointing. We weren’t given a menu initially and had to wait before anyone attended to us. When the food arrived, it sat on the table for 3–4 minutes without being served. Basic service standards were clearly missing. We were seated at a cramped round table for four, while a larger square table opened up. I requested to move, but was told they would “check” since it was busy. That table was later given to just two people, which was frustrating and poorly managed. ₹200 for a lassi and nearly ₹2,500 for four people didn’t feel justified given the experience.

Ambience is good and seating arrangements are there for different group sizes. The service is very bad… no one is there serve our group of 16. We have to wait for them. The soup/starters ordered are not served hot… The waiters change every time and there is confusion in the way they serve each dish. Tissues are not placed properly. Glasses were not in exact nos- have to ask them repeatedly. The prices are very high when compared to the portion being served for each dish… A very bad experience and wish not to visit this branch again.
