Are you a ‘shaukeen’ of non veg oriental and Indian cuisines … this is the place for you .. super food, adequate portions. The authenticity of the preparation is kept in mind. The ambience is classic and goes with the name. Had a fun time with family … Cheers to Team Khyber

Must visit for the famed Afghani delicacies with a touch of quaint recreated decor. Food is definitely lip-smaking but be prepared for a long wait before being seated for satiating your taste buds. Service is not the kind one expects from a fine dine. Nonetheless, the food makes you disregard all these small shortcomings. Come, indulge in the Afghani cuisine.

The positive reviews: the service is exceptional.l, no doubt. The food is also good. Those labelled for one serving can fit 2 people already. The chicken tandoori was tender and delicious, the server also suggested a side of dhal and I got the yellow dhal, it was also good. He said it was small but it is for 2 persons, the rice was fluff and hot. I had to finish all hahah. The let downs: there's no internet signal when you are inside. You can ask for wifi though. I had high hopes for the gulab jamun but it looks like it was pre made and pre heated in a microwave. The building where it is on is currently under renovation.

We were back to Khyber after quite a number of years. After hearing mixed reviews regarding the food, we were quite unsure on what to expect, however, with high hopes, we still decided to visit. Started off with their chicken tikka and the masala roomali roti. Didn’t disappoint. The chicken tikka was soft and very well seasoned. It was one of the very few I have had that doesn’t require the squeeze of lime to accentuate the taste. Paired with the roomali it was a started to get us started. Moving on we had the butter naan along with the chicken tikka masala. Another stellar combo. Hot, fluffy naans with perfectly spiced chicken tikka masala with that perfectly caramelised onion flavour, something you should definitely order. Next we moved to the chicken biryani. It’s a light biryani. Not too oily not too heavily reliant on array of spices. Simple yet tasty. Perfect lunch is what I would say. Despite the reviews we managed to enjoy the food to our hearts content

The Khyber at Fort stands out as one of the most iconic and heritage-rich places in the Kala Ghoda area. From the moment you notice it, the restaurant gives off a timeless, royal charm that reflects the old soul of South Mumbai. The entrance itself feels grand and inviting, with traditional elements that instantly create a sense of elegance and history. The wooden textures, classic design, and warm lighting visible from the outside give it a premium and sophisticated character. It carries the aura of a place that has hosted countless memorable evenings over the years. The setting blends perfectly with the artistic and cultural vibe of Fort, making it feel like more than just a restaurant — it feels like a landmark.

Average taste, great hospitality, interesting ambience. Located at a prime spot, Khyber gives you the impression that it’s a classic where nothing can go wrong with the food. While it does not do anything wrong with the food, it also does not do anything marvellously well with it. The chicken kathi roll and the paneer tikka were so mildly marinated, one could barely get a sense of the spices used in the dishes. Even the cheese garlic naan was an average nibble. The staff is warm and courteous.

Had lunch here and it was strictly ok. We had tandoori roti, wheat roomali roti, tandoori roti, vegetable malai kofta (Jain preparation),paneer tikka masala (Jain preparation) and beetroot kebab. Everything was average. The service was very slow and felt inattentive at times. We had to flag them down more than average. For the price, both the food and service was disappointing.
