Lijo Antony★We visited Woodlands Restaurant @ Shatti, Muscat today with family for the Iftar dinner, and it turned out to be a very disappointing experience!!!! The Iftar dinner is charged at 8 OMR per person, but when you compare it with the quality of food served at Woodlands, it doesn’t even feel worth even 1 OMR!!! First of all, the service was extremely slow. After placing the order, we had to wait nearly 40 minutes just to receive the main course, which is unacceptable, especially during Iftar time when people are already fasting and expecting timely service. Unfortunately, the food quality was equally disappointing. The butter chicken was very poor …. the chicken did not seem properly cooked and the taste was unpleasant. It also did not taste fresh at all. The biryani was below average with very little flavor, and the dal makhani was bland and not tasty. Overall, the Iftar dinner here is absolutely not worth the money. We went with family expecting a good meal during Ramadan, but it turn
Kripa Desai★★★★★⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely loved our meal at this South Indian restaurant! We tried the prawns, coconut prawns, lollipop chicken, dosa, Chicken Manchurian, rice, and bindi — and everything was incredible. The flavours were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. Every dish tasted freshly made, and the portions were generous too. Honestly, one of the best South Indian meals we’ve had — we enjoyed every single bite! Highly recommend. 🌶🍛✨
Lu★★★★★Hands down the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the Varutha Erachi was the absolute star of the show—it really impressed me. I’ve already recommended this place to my friends in Muscat. Can't wait to come back!
Nadiya Reviews★★★★Went to Woodlands for dinner last night and ordered the grilled prawns and chicken tikka with masala kulcha. We had to wait about ten minutes to get a table—which already spoke volumes about the restaurant’s popularity. They have an extensive menu featuring both North Indian and Chettinad cuisines, with plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The staff, including the manager, were warm and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The food was nice too. I only tried the grills this time, but I’m definitely going back to explore their main course next time. The stuffed masala kulcha was a standout—so flavorful and satisfying! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re craving good Indian food in a cozy, inviting setting.

Nafi t v★I recently visited this restaurant for Iftar, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. First of all, they clearly do not understand how an Iftar service should be organized. Instead of placing the basic Iftar items on the table before Maghrib, they kept bringing items one by one, which completely ruined the flow of the meal. The starters were extremely poor in quality. The samosa, spring cutlet, and fish roll were all very bad in taste. Even the watermelon juice was one of the worst I have had. Finally, the main dish, mutton biriyani, was very disappointing. It looked and tasted more like watery porridge rice than biriyani. Even the dal curry and butter chicken, which are usually simple dishes that any restaurant should be able to make well, were also very bad in taste. What surprises me most is that many people still come here claiming it is “the best South Indian food.” In my opinion, the food quality is far from authentic and it actually gives a bad name to Sout
Nitin Sharma★Visited this place recently, and while the name carries a certain reputation, the overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The pricing also feels too steep for the value provided. Food: Must-Try: The Appam was the highlight of the meal—perfectly cooked and a standout among the offerings. Could Skip: The Karaikudi Kozhi Curry was disappointing. It was overly spicy, and the chicken pieces, served on the bone, may not suit everyone’s preference. Moreover, the chicken lacked tenderness and didn’t seem fresh. The Chilly Chicken were decent but far from exceptional, it was served on the bone which is usually not the case elsewhere. Ambiance: The initial vibe is pleasant, but the atmosphere becomes dull after a while. The unusually tall table heights make dining challenging, particularly for families with kids. Service: Service left much to be desired. The staff seemed more focused on pushing starters, often delaying the main course. During the meal, it was difficult to find se
Rohit Khubchandani★★★★★I’ve been a loyal patron of Woodlands Restaurant for years, going back to their original spot in Ruwi. They recently moved to a new location, and on my recent trip to Muscat, I made sure to visit. True to form, Woodlands didn’t disappoint! For starters, we ordered the Chilly Chicken, which was packed with flavors—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly spiced with just the right balance of heat and tanginess. One of our friends decided to try their Masala Dosa, which arrived with a generous selection of chutneys, each one bringing a unique kick to the dish. For the main course, we went for their Beef Fry, also known as Varutha Irachi, paired with fresh, fluffy appams. The beef was exceptionally tender and rich in spices, with a depth of flavor that was truly mind-blowing. The appams were soft and perfectly complemented the robust taste of the beef, making every bite unforgettable. For dessert, we indulged in a combination of Gulab Jamun and Malai Kulfi—a delightfu
