The food was exceptional. There were a couple of niggles I had in general but perhaps I'm just old fashioned. Firstly bread for the cover should always be served warm. Never serve beer in glasses with a brand name as this is for coffee shops and and cheap snack houses and finally I still believe that red and white wines should be served in different glasses. Apart from those observations my wife and I had a lovely evening savouring the 6 course tasting menu. It was a real treat except for the aforementioned observations. Thank you.

Fresh ingredients that are really well cooked. My husband and I are vegetarian and found that we really had to search for good vegetarian food -- Salpoente was the best place that we ate in during our trip to Portugal. We were desperately wanting a vegetarian dish that was mostly vegetables and little to no carbs -- tired of plain pasta at this point. They had a gazpacho appetizer and cauliflower steak entree on the menu. The gazpacho was excellent, probably the best gazpacho I've had.
