Our hotel picked this place for us, so I didn't read any reviews before going. My wife says that the poor service was mentioned by others. There is no hostess so we waited for several minutes for someone to walk to the front and to be seated. Our waiter was very friendly, but as the restaurant got busy he disappeared. Our appetizer of the fantastic sausages and turnip greens was forgotten, leaving us sit for half an hour watching others who came after enjoy their food. We had a fantastic dinner at Dom Joaquim in Évora. From start to finish everything was excellent — the food, the service, the ambiance — truly a memorable evening. I ordered the Borrego Assado no Forno (oven-roasted Alentejo lamb), and it was superb: tender, perfectly seasoned with olive oil, garlic, bay leaves and rosemary, and the flavors were beautifully balanced. We were excited to come to this restaurant as all the reviews seem to be great but we have never had such a bad service in any restaurant . The waiter didn’t know anything we asked about, the food took forever and they came to reconfirm the order three times (we only ordered pasta and meat). The water was never replenished and the waiters stood in their desks standing and looking without coming to the table at all. Honestly the worse restaurant we have been in.
